Our flight to London is not scheduled until eight o’clock this evening, so that gave us a day in Orlando. We slept in and checked out of the hotel around eleven. We walked across the bridge to Disney Springs. When we first arrived there, there was very few people walking around and Jay and I decided to go see a movie. After the movie Disney Springs was a lot more crowded. We walked around and found somewhere to eat lunch. after lunch we then wandered around the area until it was time to leave for the airport.
Jay had left his phone charger in our room when we checked out. Since our hotel had our car in valet parking and our luggage was being held in storage, I stopped at the front desk to inquire whether they had found the charger. They had, the clerk had to call security to bring it to me. While I was waiting for security, I had them bring my car around and get our luggage out if storage. Then it was off to the airport.
We were flying Virgin Atlantic and when we checked in at the airport, the clerk told us that the plane was not full. I asked for a window seat and an aisle seat and left the seat between us empty. That gave us more room. He had said we were going to start boarding warly, but we didn’t.
As we boarded we were given a bottle of water. The head phones fit over your ears and were not the earbud style that fit in your ear. They also gave us another kit that contained a toothbrush, toothpaste rand a eye mask. They fed us supper and you had three choices of entrees. I chose the Christmas dinner option which contained ham and turkey and roasted potatoes. You also got a salad, roll and chocolate swirl cheesecake for dessert. I tried going to sleep but was not able to so I watched a movie. Eventually I fell asleep and then they brought around breakfast. Breakfast was yogurt and an apple tart pastry and a fruit cup. I only ate the fruit cup.
Going through ugh immigration did not take very long and our luggage was there waiting on us. The gat wick express train was not running the week we are there because they are making repairs to the tracks, so I arranged for a driver to pick us up. He was standing there waiting for us when we arrived. It is so nice to get off a plane in a foreign country and have someone waiting for you.
It it was about an hour drive to our hotel. He took us on the back roads, because he said the traffic was backed up on the highway. That was find, I loved driven on the narrow backroads and through little towns.
Our hotel is across the road from Hyde Park. We have a great view looking out at London and Hyde park. We can also see where they are having the Winter Wonderland from our room.
We were able to check in early and everyone has been very nice. We took a nap because we were both exhausted. It gets dark here around four o’clock. We left and walked around until we found a restaurant to eat supper, we chose an Italian restaurant. Jay had a pizza and I had spaghetti bolo genes. The temperature was 57 degrees so it wasn’t Too bad.
