Yellowstone National Park

Day 8 – Monday, July 12
Today, we spent at Yellowstone National Park.  We entered through the East Entrance which is about an hour away from Cody, where we are staying.  We decided to take the southern route.  Our first stop was at the Fishing Bridge.  You are not actually allowed to fish from this bridge any longer.  Next we took the Gulf Point Drive.  This is a nice drive which runs right next to the lake.  We continued until we reached  the parking lot for Old Faithful.  We were able to find a parking space pretty quickly.  We only had to wait a few minutes before it went off.  After ward we continued on.  We took the Firehole Lake Drive.  This is a nice drive which takes you pass a couple of geysers.  We next stopped at Gibbon Falls, which is very beautiful.

We turned into the Norris Canyon Road and then head back to the East exit so we could head back to Cody.  We were back on the loop road when we saw a lot of Bison.  They were on both sides of the road and in fact they were stopping traffic by walking down the middle of the road.  After the bison we exited the park and headed back to our hotel.
