Leaving Scotland for Dublin

Today, we left Scotland and flew to Dublin. I scheduled a car to pick us up at 9:30 and drive us to the airport. We arrived at the airport, checked in, and went through security. Then, when we looked to see what gate our flight was leaving from, it said the flight was delayed by 1 hour and 10 minutes. They also do not post the gate number until about 45 minutes before the flight, so Jay and I found somewhere to sit and wait.

At 12:25, they posted the gate number (#16), and we walked to the gate and waited again.

When it was time to board the plane, they checked our passports, and I used digital boarding passes on my phone. On the way to the plane, we had to walk down a few steps and then out onto the tarmac, where we climbed about four steps to board the aircraft. It was a smaller regional jet with propellers, and the seating configuration was two seats on each side of the aisle.

The flight was only 1 hour and 30 minutes long. After we landed, we had to walk down about eight steps to get off the plane. Then we walked to a bus, which took us to the terminal. Going through immigration did not take long, and we were through in no time. We then had to wait for our luggage. I had arranged for a car and driver to be waiting for us to take us to the hotel.

It was about a 40-minute drive to the hotel. We were able to check into our room and rest before going out for dinner. Then we headed back to the hotel for the night.
