We got up this morning and packed our bags before going down for breakfast.  The hotel we are staying does not have parking, so we have had to park in the municipal lot a couple of blocks away from the hotel.  After we ate breakfast, we walked to where our car was parked and drove it to the hotel.  We checked out of the hotel and headed out of Nafplio.

Our first stop was Tiryns about 2 and 1/2 miles away.  We spent some time wandering around the ruins.  The next stop was the Tomb of Agamemnon and Lion Gate.  We arrived there and was purchasing our tickets when 3 tour buses showed up.  We went into the tomb and then we walked up the hill to Lion Gate.  I let Jay go to the top by himself because I did not think I could walk up that steep hill to the top..

Next we drove about 10 miles to Larissa Castle of Argos.  It is at the top of a hill.  We had the place to ourselves.  It was just starting to sprinkle rain while we were exploring the castle.

Next, was the Monastery Elonas, about 60 miles away.  It was a nice drive along the coast of the Argotic Gulf.  it started raining while we were driving down the coast.  We then turned away from the coast and headed inland.  We traveled through a mountainous region.  The road was real curvy going through the mountains.  We eventually reached the Monastery.  It was raining pretty good, but we still got out of the car and went inside.  When I say inside, I mean we went through the outer door, but we were still outside getting rained on.  We had to walk down quite a few steps.  We just stayed a few minutes and then left.  I was wet and cold.  Because we were wet, we decided to skip the rest of our plans and head to our hotel.

We are staying at a resort near Sparta.  We were met in the parking lot, and the bellman took our bags and we were escorted to the front desk where we checked in.  It is a very nice room.  We ate dinner in the restaurant that is onsite.  We are only going to be here for one night.
