Today we are scheduled to drive from Meteora to Thessaloniki. Nothing went as planned today. We were going to stop at the Great Meteoreon Monastery on our way out of town. We were not able to stop, because we couldn’t find a parking space. Our next stop was a Museum of Natural History, but Jay decided he did not want to visit the Museum. So on to our next stop, a Bear Conservation Area, but when I looked it up online, I realized it was closed today. Next up was a Byzintine Bridge and edessa Waterfalls. This was located in the middle of a town and the traffic was terrible, so again there was nowhere to park. We decided to just head for our apartment rental.
The whole day it was rainy and overcast. It wasn’t a heavy rain, just constant. The battery in the rental car’s key fob also decided to give out. The first time I got in the car to push the starter button and nothing happened, I started to panic. The dash said to hold the key fob next to the steering column so it would recognize it and the car would start. Sometimes I would have to do it several times before the car would start.
We are staying 3 nights in an apartment rental. It is called the “Presidential Suite” and is on the top floor of a five story building. The first story is two parking spaces (one of which is reserved for me.) Then to get to our apartment, you have to insert a key into the elevator panel and choose level 4. Our apartment is the only one on this level and it has a view on three sides. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The reason I chose it was because, it had a washing machine and parking. I thought it had a dryer, but apparently not.
After being in Greece, for 2 1/2 weeks, we need to wash clothes. So just about everything is getting washed. Jay is using a hair dryer to dry the clothes.
We tried to find somewhere to eat supper, we picked out someplace on the may and would walk there but we could not find it. We finally walked back to the apartment. Jay had seen some food delivery drivers so we tried signing up for them. The first one, when we tried creating an account would not send us the code. We tried calling them and they were going to call us back, but apparently they couldn’t.
Jay is not one to give up when he sets his mind on something. He tried a different app. We had the same problem, but Jay used the app’s chat feature to contact them and they were able to call me and we could get the account set up on Jay’s phone. Finally around 9:30 we were able to order food.
We did get one load of clothes washed before we turned in for the night.
