Today is a day we are doing errands.  The first, is to try to get a new battery for the car’s key fob.  I found a battery place on line.  It was a little far for me to walk, so I had discovered an app that allows you to put in your pickup point and destination and payment method and calls a taxi.  It works like Uber, but you are actually getting a taxi.  They usually come within a few minutes.  We used the app “FreeNow” to call a taxi and it dropped us off just across the street from the battery store.  The battery store said they did not have the proper tool to open the key fob and change the battery.  They tried to direct us to another place several blocks away.  We were unable to find that place, so we located an Avis car rental near where we were and went there.

I had talked to Avis in Thessaloniki the previous night and they said if we could not get a new battery, to bring the car to them and they would give us a different car.  The Avis that we went to said we would need to take the car to the Avis at the airport and they could give us a different car there.  So using “Freenow”, I called us a taxi to take us back our apartment.  At the apartment, we cleaned out the car and drove to the airport.  It was a pretty easy drive.  The gentleman, I had spoken to was there and gave us another car with no problems.  We had been driving a Mini Cooper, so he gave us another Mini Cooper.  The new car is slightly bigger.  After getting the new car we drove back to the apartment.

Our next errand was to buy a new piece of luggage.  I decided, I wanted to take a smaller piece of luggage when we started using the ferries to visit several islands.  It was difficult for me getting on an off the ferry when we visited Hydra with my big reg piece of luggage.  I found a luggage store, so again Jay and I took a taxi over there.  We found a piece of luggage, it is kind of a beige color and it also had a smaller piece that matched.  Jay decided he wanted the smaller piece.  So I bought both pieces.  They put one inside the other and we went off looking for somewhere to eat lunch.  We picked a place, but the kitchen was closed so we just ordered two cokes.  They were 5 euros a piece.  After our drink break, we headed back to our apartment again by taxi.  Back at the apartment we ordered lunch.  After lunch we continued washing clothes an9d Jay  continued drying the clothes.
