[dropcap custom_class=”whb”]This morning Jay woke up at 6:00 and took a shower. He got me up at 6:30 and we we had breakfast and was out the door by 7:30. Jay wanted to walk around Budapest before we needed to leave. we took off waking and walked for a long way. We even walked across a bridge to get to the Pest side of Budapest. It was a beautiful day for a walk. We took the funicular up to the Parliament building and back down. we then walked back to our hotel, stopping off to do some souvenir shopping along the way. we arrived back at the hotel at 10 and then got our luggage and checked out. We had been walking for 3 and 1/2 hours. we dragged our luggage to the car park where we had left our car.

The car park was different. You drive your car into this gated lift. After you get out of the car, it is lifted up into some other part of the building. When you get your car back, it has been turned around so you can drive straight out of the parking garage. We then put the location of our hotel in Krakow and off we went. we drove some very pretty countryside, part of it was mountainous. We drove into Slovakia. There was no guards at the border, so our passports did not get stamped. In Slovakia, we saw some snow still on the mountaintops. Slovakia is a very pretty country. Unfortunately we were not spending the night in Slovakia and was just driving through it on our way to Poland.
]When we crossed into Poland there were no guards there either. we made our way to our hotel. The hotel clerk told us we needed to get a parking disk for our car until 8 at night and honestly we really tried. We found an ATM machine and got some Polish money. But the ATM only gives out bills and we needed coins for the Parking meter. I did not see anywhere to buy something to get change, so we decided to risk it. Well naturally we got a parking ticket. Oh well, next time I will make a better effort to get some change.
