[dropcap custom_class=”whb”]After eating breakfast at the hotel, we decided to do some exploring of Warsaw.  We took a taxi to the center of town, where we could get on the Hop On Hop Off bus.  They only take cash, so we had to cross the street to a shopping mall and look for an ATM machine.  After getting the cash to pay for the tickets, we went back and waited for the next bus.  We  sat on the top of the bus and it was very hot.  Leave it to me to go to Poland and get a little to much sun.  we only road the bus half way before we got off at Old Town.  This is an area with a lot of little shops.  I did notice that they must love their ice cream, because there were a lot of places to buy it.  After doing some shopping, we took a taxi back to the hotel to get our car.  We had already checked out of the hotel and put our luggage in the car.  We also bought the parking ticket, before we left but it was for only two hours.  A look would have it, this time we made it back to the car in time without getting a ticket.  As a matter of fact, we were sitting in the car, trying to find our next destination on my iphone when the parking police came by.  They did not give us a ticket because we were sitting in the car.

Our next destination was Wroclaw.  With all the traffic it was about a five hour drive.  we did get off the highway and drive on some nice two lane canopy roads.  Again when we got here, we had some trouble finding the hotel, but this time I pulled off the road and parked and then was able to locate the hotel on my iphone.  The trouble with Poland is the road names are so long that they abbreviate them and you don’t know what the correct road name is.

The hotel is gorgeous.  It is the Hotel Monopol.  Check in was a breeze and the bellman helped us unload the car, pointed out the parking lot and while I was parking the car, he went ahead and put our luggage in our room.  we are in room 126 and it is at the end of the hallway and overlooks the front of the hotel.  The room is quite large with two twin beds.  The ceiling must be twelve feet high.  The bathroom is also quite spacous.  It has a hugh bathtub and a separate shower.  It also has a toilet and a bidet.

We did some exploring after checking in to the hotel.  There were tons of restaurants in the area to choose from.  Tomorrow we will do some more exploring and then head to Prague.
