Trip to St. Barts

Today we were catching the ferry to St. Barts.  The ferry was leaving from Philipsburg at 9:30 and we had to check in by 8:30.  I got up at seven and woke Jay up.  He got ready while I took a quick shower and then ate a bowl of cereal.  We left the condo around 7:30.  It worked out well that we were going to be gone all day today because they were cleaning the condo today.

We parked in the free parking area and walked down to the marina.  There were only three other people on the ferry with us.  It is about forty minutes on the ferry.  When we arrived I hired a taxi driver to take us around the island.  He showed us some things, then dropped us off at a beach.  We walked around a while, before we found a restaurant that was open.  it was a French restaurant that served crepes.  I ordered one with maple syrup, almonds, whipped cream and vanilla ice cream.  I really enjoyed it.  Jay ordered a hamburger.  The hamburger was inside a huge pancake.

After lunch we walked around some more until I said I was going to sit down and wait for the taxi to pick us up.  It was extremely hot and I was sweating like crazy.  The taxi picked us up and took us back to the ferry dock.  Most of the stores were closed, because it was not there season.  We waited for the ferry.  It was not due to leave until 6:30.  It still was not crowded.  Jay and I sat up on the top deck.

When we docked, we ate supper at a restaurant at the marina, before walking back to our car.  It was only around 8, but there were not very many people around.  We then drove back to our hotel.
