Today we had to disembark the cruise ship in Barbados. We were staying one night before flying home on Monday. I picked one of the latest times to leave the ship. At around 9:30, our number was called and we could leave. We got our luggage and then got in the line for a taxi. When it was our time to get in a taxi, the taxi porter was going to put us in a taxi with another group that was going to the airport. Only that group was arguing with the taxi driver about the cost. The porter decided to put us in another taxi.
We arrived at our hotel and checked in. We took the elevator up to the 7th floor and found our room. When we got there the door was open and the room had not been cleaned. It also only had one bed, when I had paid for two. We got in the elevator and went back downstairs to the front desk. I told them that the room was dirty and did not have two beds. They gave us another room on the 2nd floor. This room was clean and had two beds. The problem with this room was that the seat on the toilet was broken. I decided not to complain, since we were only staying the one night. Later they sent up a homemade rum cake.
We ate lunch and dinner in the restaurant on site. It was expensive and the food was only ok.
We did take a taxi to another hotel about 5 minutes away by taxi to take another COVID test. We decided to walk back to our hotel since it was only about a mile. It was a nice walk. They were having a bicycle race in Bridgetown today and we saw some of the riders on our walk back.
