On Sunday, we left Milwaukee and drove to Crandon, Wisconsin. It rained a little on us, but it was not too bad. Crandon is a small town of less than 2,000 people. Being a Sunday, we only had once choice of place for supper. A burger drive-in place called Yeti Drive-in. We had hamburgers, they were pretty good.
On Monday, it was cooler. It just barely got up to 70 degrees. We were driving to Ashland, Wisconsin. Jay wanted to drive through the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Since it was on the way, I agreed. We turned down a gravel road. In the wintertime, the road is used by snowmobiles. We drove about 5 miles down this road, when we stopped by a lake to eat lunch. After lunch, we continued on down the road for a couple more miles. The entire time we were on the gravel road, we only saw two other vehicles.
We then continued on to Ashland. In Ashland, they have painted murals on the sides of 20 buildings. It is several blocks long along the Main Street. We walked and looked at them all. We then ate dinner at the restaurant next to the hotel.
