[dropcap custom_class=”whb”]This morning after eating breakfast, we walked around Wroclaw for a couple of hours.  Then it was time to leave Poland behind and head to Prague, Czech Republic.  It was only about 4 hours away.  Along the way Jay and I decided to do some exploring.  They have these brown signs that look like they represent historical or cultural places, so I decided to follow some of the signs and try to see what is was about.   Well, you see the sign, but it doesn’t tell you which exit (or maybe it does and I just can’t read the language).  So we would get off at the next exit and sometimes there would be another sign and sometimes there wouldn’t.  We really just ended up wandering around the Polish countryside.  We never did find where one of these places led us.

We arrived in Prague and found our hotel fairly easily.  The hotel is not near the city center.  It is a small and looks to me like a 2 star hotel.  It does not have a restaurant, but they do serve breakfast in the mornings.  I asked the clerk about exchanging money so we could take the tram and she said they don’t do that, but we could walk to Andel, where there is a ATM machine.  She said it was only a 10 minute walk.  So off Jay and I went.  We found the shopping center and the ATM machine.  Then we had to ask someone where to buy tram tickets.  The guy that sold me the tram tickets said he did not speak English, and he was not very nice.  I bought two daily tickets.  I had downloaded to my phone, a tram and metro app.  You tell it where you are and where you want to go and it tells you what tram and metro to take.  Even with the app, Jay and I managed to mess up.  When we got on the metro, we should have gotten off at the first stop, instead we road the metro for about four stop too far and had to get off and go back in the other direction.

We finally made it to the Old Town Square.  Jay took his pictures and then we found a restaurant to eat supper.  It was in a basement of a 12th century building.  We had dinner and then we walked around some more.  we got back on the subway and took it for one exit.  According to my app, we were then to walk to the tram stop and get on the #9 tram and take it all the way back to the stop nearest the hotel.  When we left the subway station, it was raining pretty hard.  We walked around for a bit looking for a grocery store for Jay, but did not find one.  we then started looking for the tram stop, but could not locate it.  By this time, it was raining really hard.  I also noticed that I had not seen any trams running when it was raining.  We then decided to take a taxi back to the hotel.  The only problem was, we did not remember the name of the hotel.  After doing some research on our phones, we were able to determine the name of the hotel and find a taxi driver to take us back to our hotel.  I was so happy to get out of the wet clothes.

Tomorrow morning we are going to do the hop on hop off bus tour and then head to Vienna.
