This morning we ate breakfast at the resort.  It was a buffet style and it was one of the largest buffet breakfasts I have ever seen.  They had both sweet and savory choices.  They had eggs several different styles, a wide assortment of breads and meats, including bacon.  They also had several different cakes and cookies to choose from.  After breakfast, we checked out of the Mystras Grand Palace Resort and Spa.  Jay insisted  we go see King Leonidas Statue first.  It is located in Sparti.  I tried to tell him we should go to Mystras first and then go see the statue, but he would not listen to me.  So after the statue we went to Mystras Archaeological site.  We walked around it and then went to Sparti’s Acropolis and Ancient Theater.

Next on my list of places to see was the town of Toriza.  It is located us a steep twisty narrow mountain road.  Once we got there, we did not know why it was on the list of places to see.  So we turned around and headed down the mountain to the Caves of Diros.  It cost 12 euro per person to see the caves.  You buy your ticket and then you drive down to where the cave opening is.  They give you a life jacket and you walk down thee steps to the boats  The guide directs where you are to sit in the boat.  Then he takes you through the cave.  Our tour guide gave the tour entirely in Greek, so I have no idea what he was saying.  The boat ride takes about 25 minutes.  It was very beautiful going through the caves.  We then headed to our hotel.

The hotel is more like a bed and breakfast, It is in a traditional Greek stone house that was converted into a B&B.  They only have 7 units.  Our room has a huge balcony off the back with a beautiful view.  After checking in we drove back into the small town to eat dinner.  To get there, you have to drive through some narrow one lane alleyways.  After dinner, we went back to our hotel to enjoy the sunset on our terrace.
