This morning we were served breakfast in our room. After breakfast we checked out of the hotel and headed to the town of Limeni. It is a lovely little village in the southern part of the Peloponnese. It is right on the coast. Jay got out and walked through the village along the coast while I drove the car through the village and waited for him on the other side.
Next we headed to Mourtzinos Castle, near the town of Kardamyli. We drove part of the wat there and then had to walk to reach the castle. There is a fee of 3 Euros (2 Euros for seniors) to get into the castle. It is not very big and does not take a long time to tour. Then we walked downhill and got back into the car.
Our next stop was the Ancient Messene. This cost 12 Euros per person. There is a senior discount, but you have to be a citizen of a country within the European Union. There were several busloads there when we arrived. It is quite large area and takes a while to look at everything. After leaving the site we stopped at a little restaurant that was nearby and had lunch. Then it was on to our hotel.
We are staying tonight in a lovely little hotel on the outskirts of Pylos on the beach. We have a little balcony that overlooks the sea. We walked into town for dinner and then strolled around a bit before heading back to the hotel.
