Today we had several items on our agenda that we wanted to see. The first was the Ancient Agora. We decided the easiest way to get there would be to take the Hop On Hop Off bus. The closest stop to our hotel is the one at Syntagma Square, it is only a few blocks from our hotel and takes about 5 minutes to walk. We headed to the Square found the stop and bought tickets. We decided to ride around the whole route first. It is a good way to get acquainted with the city. After the trip around the city we got off the bus at the 4th stop which is near the Acroolis. We had about a 15 minute walk to the Ancient Agora.
The Ancient Agora was the main meeting place for Athenians. Athenians would meet here to conduct state affairs, watch performers and just hang out. The next stop was Kerameikos Ancient Cemetary. There is also a museum there that has a lot of pottery. We then decided to walk to Little Kook for dessert. It was about a 10 minute walk. Little Kook looks like it should be in a theme part such as Disney World. When we were there they had an Alice in Wonderland theme. They do change the theme seasonally. The outer decor is amazing. Jay ordered a slice of red velvet cake at it was the biggest slice I have ever seen. I ordered the brownie with ice cream, It was also very large. I also got a pink lemonade.
Our final stop of the day was Hadrian’s Library. The library was created by the Roman emperor Hadrian in 132 AD. It was located on the north side of the Acropolis. After that we walked back to the hotel where we rested up before venturing out for dinner.
