[dropcap custom_class=”whb”]Today, we were leaving the English countryside and going to London. We drove almost two hours to get back to turn in the car. We then took a taxi into London to our hotel. We arrived at our hotel at 1:30 and were not allowed to check in because our room was not ready. The clerk told us to take a seat and he would get us when we could check in. Check in time was 2:30, so we should have been able to check in after that. I waited until three and he never came to get us. When I walked over to his desk, he acted surprised that we had not yet checked in.[/dropcap]
Jay and I found a grocery store and bought some foods for breakfast. Jay takes a very long time to make up his mind as to what he wants. We walked around the area, to get our bearings. We are only about five minutes from the lube station. We did end up in Kensington Gardens. Jay walked around and took pictures.
There are a lot of places to eat a couple of blocks from our hotel. We ate supper at Scotch Steakhouse. Jay had a cheeseburger and I had beef kabobs. We had to pay cash because their credit card machine was broken. They also had no fries so Jay had to have a baked potato or as the waiter called it “potato with a jacket”. I think Jay probably preferred the baked potato.
