Japan: Japan Day 5

Osaka Castle

Today was a busy day for us.  After breakfast, we set out to visit Osaka Castle.  The weather today was very warm and sunny.  The castle was a short subway ride from our hotel.  On the grounds of the castle is a time capsule, that is not going to be opened for 5000 years.  We walked all around the castle, then stopped at the souvenir shop and Jay bought some post cards that he is to mail to people back home.

After the castle, we headed to Shitennoji Temple.  We found it easily.  We fully explored the temple and then it was off to our last destination of the day, Sumiyoshi Taisha.  We got on the wrong train and took it way out of our way before we realized our error.  We then got back on the right train and eventually made it to our destination.  Jay and I usually get lost at least one per journey.  After exploring it, we took the train back  to the station near our hotel.

We rested for a bit, before heading to Dotonbori to look for someplace to eat dinner.  After walking all over the place, I finally picked a place because Jay could not decide.  Jay ordered the teriyaki chicken over rice with miso soup.  I had tempura and beef with udon noodles.  Mine was more like a soup.  It looked a lot better in the picture on the menu than what it looked like when they brought it to me.  It tasted pretty good.  After dinner we returned to our hotel room.
