Today, we had a walking tour scheduled this morning for 9:00. We went downstairs and met our tour guide, Rita. Rita tour us all over the historical part of Lisbon. We took the furnicular up the hil and was rewarded at the top with a beautiful view of Lisbon, then we walked down the hill to a place where you can watch them make the cream tarts. We each had a tart, it was very delicious since it was warm. Next, we continued in our journey and then we stopped for drinks, Jay had a lemonade and I had a hot chocolate. After that we went to this place where they make a liquor out of cherries. We tasted it and it was very strong. Then she took us to a restUrant to have lunch. She wanted to show us a real Portuguese meal. We started the meal with some kind of fritter that is made with cod fish and potato and fried. I would not have tried it normally. Then I had a pork sandwich. By then our tour was over and Rita left us.
Jay and I decided to take the Greyline hop on hop off bus. We started out on the Red line tour and rode for several stops, before Jay decided he wanted to get off. We got off at the palace and then walked from the stop where we got off over to the waterfront where Jay took some more pictures. We also paid .50 euros each to use the restroom facilities. Then we walked to the next stop to wait for the bus.
After getting back on the bus, we rode it to the first stop so we could change buses. Things were in chaos on the roads, because they were having some kind of festival at this stop and the President of Portugal was there. We were able to get on the blue bus and rode it almost all the way around. We got off down at the main square which is several blocks from our hotel. We found a restaurant to eat supper. Then back to our hotel. (I walked over 21,000 steps or a little over 9 miles a today.)
