The first place we headed was the Julier Pass. It was very curvy roads and a lot of snow. At the top of the pass, there was a little cafe, souvenir shop. We bought some keychains and stickers and postcards. There was also a lake that was still frozen. We then left the Julier Pass and headed to the San Bernandino Pass. This pass had a lot more traffic and a lot more sharp turns. At the top of this pass, was a little cafe, we did not stop becuase it was packed and there was nowhere to park.
Next we headed to Bellinzona. We pulled into a parking garage, because there was a fortress Jay wanted to look at. We also ate lunch here. When it was time to go, I put in our ticket into the machine to pay the fee and it ate the ticket. It told me it couldn’t read the ticket. I pressed the help button and the guy that answered tried two different languages, and neither one was english, so he did not understand me and I did not understand him. Some man walked up and he tried to help, but again he did not speak english and did not understand what I was saying. I pushed the button two more times and on the final time I pretended to be histerical and crying saying I just wanted my car back. I finally understood him to say that he would be there in 5 minutes. We waited for him and when he arrived, I showed him the machine that I had used. He opened the machine and pulled out my ticket. It was not the ticket for the car park – oops. I had the car park ticket still in my pocket. We were then able to pay the fee and leave the garage.
We then headed to Lugano. It was very difficult to find the hotel. It took us down this narrow alleyway and then told me to make a u-turn. Which I did with great difficulty. We eventually found the hotel and got checked in. We are on the 5th floor and have a beautiful view of the lake. We walked down the hill to the lake so Jay could take pictures and eat supper. Then we had to walk back up the hill to our hotel.
