Today, we decided to take the Hop On Hop Off Trolley tour. They have these in cities all over the world. They are usually a good way to get familiar with a city and they are not expensive. You can stay on the bus all the way around or you can hop on and off at any of the stops. We got on the trolley at Seaport Village, from there it took us to Horton Plaza, Gaslamp quarter, across the bridge to Coronado, then back across the bridge to Balboa Park, Little Italy, Old town, the Harbor and back to Seaport Village. At Old Town, which is the first stop, we had to change trolleys.
When we got back to Seaport Village, we decided to have lunch. I got the fish and Jay had a hamburger. After lunch, we walked down to the USS Midway, to tour it. It was $20 a person. There was a long line to buy tickets, but it seemed to move pretty quickly. We toured the ship and took a lot of pictures. Then it was back to the hotel to rest up for supper.
I was tired of eating seafood, because I had been eating it for just about every meal. Using the phone app “Open Table”, I found a Persian restaurant that had good reviews. I made a reservation. The restaurant was less than a mile from our hotel so we decided to walk. I used the map app on my iphone where you can put in your starting location and your ending location and it shows you how to get there. Using the map, we had no problem with finding the restaurant. I ordered the Shish Kabob with beef and Jay had the Chicken Shish Kabob. The Shish Kabob came with 5 huge chunks of meat, white rice topped with saffron rice and grilled vegetables. Jay’s chicken shish kabob was the same except with chicken. It was delicious and a nice change from seafood. It was also very expensive.
After dinner, we walked back to the hotel. I don’t think it was as cold tonight as last night.
