Today was Jay’s day to decide what we were going to do. He wanted to visit the zoo. We walked to Bayswater Station and found that the station was closed and the Circle Line was not running that day. That meant we had to walk a little farther to Queensway Station and get on the Central Line. We took it to Tottenham Court Road station. There, we had to switch to the Northern Line and ride to Camden Town. From that station, it was about a 15-minute walk to the zoo. There were signs showing the way to the zoo.
Our London Pass got us into the zoo. We spent several hours walking all around it. After the zoo, we walked back toward Camden Town station and found a restaurant to have lunch. The restaurant was very crowded, so we ended up having to share a table.
After lunch, we decided to go back to Kensington Park and visit Kensington Palace. Once again, the London Pass got us in. Afterward, we walked back to our hotel to rest for a while before dinner.
When we went out for dinner, it was raining—not very hard, but enough to get you wet. We decided to eat at another Persian restaurant. Once we sat down, our waiter came over, and it turned out to be the same waiter we had a few nights earlier at the other Persian restaurant where we ate.
Again, Jay ordered the chicken kebab, and I had lamb. They also had crunchy rice, which I ordered. It came topped with a tomato sauce that reminded me of food Amir used to make. We also had dessert. Jay had Persian ice cream.
After supper, it was back to the hotel to pack. Tomorrow, we have to leave England and go home.
