Hyde Park Winter Wonderland Day

Today we. Were scheduled to see the circus at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.  Our time was eleven and I figured we needed to leave by ten.  So I set my alarm for eight, but I must have been more jet lagged than I thought, because I totally slept through my alarm.  i woke  up around 9:30 and we had to hurry.

The closest tube station is just around the corner from our hotel.  We bought an Oyster card with a seven day travel card to use for our travels on the tube.  I have an interactive map of London’s tube system on my cell phone.  It makes it easy, I put in our starting station and our ending station and it tells me hoe to get there.  We took the tube to  Hyde Park Corner and then walked to the Winter Wonderland.  It was a really dreary day.  Very overcast, but it never rained on us.  The temperature was about 57 F.  It wasn’t too bad.  The Winter Wonderland reminded me of the North Florida fair.  It had the same type if rides and games.  We attended the circus and then bought a hamburger from one of the food stands.  We also had tickets for the ice palace.  It was very cold in there, because they don’t want the ice sculptures to melt.

After, the ice palace we decided to leave Hyde Park.  Jay wanted to visit a couple of soccer stadiums.  The first one was Emerites stadium where Arsenal plays.  I had researched the tube stations that was closest the previous night.  Emerites stadium is quite impressive.  After we walked around the stadium, we stopped at the store and Jay purchased a scarf and a key chain.

Next it was on to Boleyn Ground for the stadium where Westham plays.  After that we decided to travel to the West End section of London to see about getting theatre tickets.  We purchased tickets for tomorrow for the Book of Morman.  We then walked around some ending up in Chinatown.  We left Chinatown and found a steak house to eat dinner.  Then it is back on theTube and back to our hotel.
