This morning, we got up and went downstairs to eat breakfast. They had the usual fare, different breads, cereals, scrambled eggs, breakfast ham, sausage, and various beverages. Jay wanted to go to the gym after breakfast. He had tried the night before, but his key card did not work to let him in. He wanted me to go with him so see why it did not work. There was a sign on the door, that said you had to go to the reception desk to register before using the gym. At reception they had you sign a form basically saying that if you get injured in the gym, they are not responsible. Jay signed and they activated our key cards, so he could use the gym. He went back and did a workout, and I went back to the room.
After Jay’s workout we went back outside to catch the sightseeing bus. We wanted the Yellow line, but the red one arrived first so we took it. We rode it for several stops before we got off. Our plan was to walk to this specific Post Office on West Nile Street, to get my money changed. We found the post office and they changed out the old British pounds for the new currency, then we stopped at TGI Fridays for lunch.
After lunch we wandered around a bit stopping at a store so Jay could buy some post cards and a key chain. Jay collects key chains from all the places we visit. We got back on the bus and rode it around to the Pollack Park. We had an hour we could spend here before the last bus of the day would arrive. We started walking through the park, which was nice, and it was a wooded area we were walking through on the path. We walked to the Burrell Museum and then it was time to turn around and walk back. We were quite a long way from the bus stop, when I told Jay that I think we missed the final bus because it was past time for it to arrive. And that I did not know how we were going to get back to the hotel. Jay said to keep walking, you never know what may happen. Sure enough, when I could see the bus stop up ahead, I saw people waiting and I turned around and looked and saw the bus was coming. We started running for the bus stop and was able to make it. IT must have been funny to see an old 69-year-old woman with white hair running. We rode the bus back to near our hotel and then walked the rest of the way. In our hotel room, I collapsed on the bed, I was so tired. After resting a bit, we went down to the hotel restaurant to eat supper. Then it was back upstairs to call it a day.
