Jay and I are spending a week in Sedona, AZ. We spent Tuesday taking our cat Max and dog Zack to their kennel. Zack is a 17-year-old, 6-pound Havanese. Max is about 14 years old and is a yellow tabby cat. We have another cat, Pepper ah9o is about 2 years old and is solid black except for a few white hairs on her chest. We took her to stay with my brother.
Our plane was leaving at 8:30 AM, so I had to get up at 5 to finish packing and to drive to the airport. We are flying from Tallahassee to Atlanta and then to Phoenix. The first flight was uneventful. We arrived in Atlanta and our arrival gate was right next to our departing gate. We had enough of a layover to get something to eat. Our flight to Phoenix was 35 minutes late.
I had Jay and I both sitting in aisle seats across from each other. There was nobody sitting in the middle seat next to me. Jay’s row was full. Again, the flight was uneventful. Our luggage was waiting on the luggage carrousel when we got to baggage claim. We then took the train to the car rental center to get our rental car. There was a long line, but we got our car and started the 3-hour drive to Sedona.
I set the GPS and told it to avoid the highways. I try to avoid interstates and take the rural roads. This road was a divided 4 lane highway for most of the way, but there was not much traffic. We did stop at McDonalds’s along the way and got a late lunch. Eventually, it became a two-lane road, but there was very little traffic. We made it to Sedona and got checked into our condo.
We are staying in as 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo. The main bedroom is upstairs, so I gave that room to Jay, because it is sometimes hard for me to go up and down the stairs. The other bedroom is downstairs, and I took that room. We went to a grocery store and bought some groceries, such as water soft drinks and food for breakfast. We stopped by Subway for supper then back to the condo. It has been a long day, and we were tired.
