Today, Jay decided he wanted to do some hiking. Our first stop was Red Rock State Park. Admission was $7 per person to enter the park. Jay started with a shorter hike to warm up and then went on to do one of the longer trails. Since I am not able to hike, I brought my Kindle with me and spent the time reading in the car while he explored the trails.

The scenery around the park was beautiful, with the red rock formations and desert landscape stretching out in every direction. Even though I stayed behind, it was still peaceful just sitting there enjoying the surroundings, reading, checking my phone, and relaxing.

After Jay finished hiking at Red Rock State Park, we drove to the Bell Rock trailhead. He first hiked the Bell Rock Trail and then continued on to the Courthouse Butte Loop. Once again, I stayed in the car, where I alternated between reading, taking a short nap, and browsing on my phone while waiting for him to return. He was gone for about two hours altogether.

By the time he finished, he was pretty tired from all the hiking, so we headed back to the condo to rest for a while. Later in the evening, we went back out to find something for supper. Once again, we ended up eating at a Mexican restaurant, which seems to have become our favorite type of food on this trip.

After supper, we returned to the condo and started packing everything up. Tomorrow, we will be driving back to Phoenix to catch our flight home. It is hard to believe the vacation is already over.
